Researcher and choreographer. Ex-ballerina and Founding Director of Ecuatorian National Ballet. Mexican by naturalization, she was Head of the Coordination of Dance of the National Institute of Fine Arts and Director of the National Dance Company and Co-founder and Director of Cenidi-Danza. She has held important posts in different organizations and institutions of theater and dance. She has organized colloquia of dance in regards to other areas of the development of the body and has promoted different dance competitions and awards in Mexico. Her research projects and publications are numerous. At present she is
President of the Mexican Society of Choreographers (Somec) and Executive Director of the Viva la Danza Foundation. She is a regular contributor to Ecuador News of New York and to La Pirouettte, Guadalajara, Jalisco.

Margarita Tortajada has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from UNAM, a Master´s degree in Education and Artistic Research from INBA and a Doctorate in Social Sciences from UAM. She has been a researcher at the Cenidi-Danza José Limón since 1988. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores and has written several publications on art theory and historical analysis of Mexican dance. In her last five writings, she has discussed gender issues. She is currently working on the research project “Dance and Pain”. She is professor of dance history at the Contempory Dance School at the Centro Cultural Ollin Yoliztli.

Editor in chief of Dance Magazine, had a 30-year career as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She was a member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company from 1975 to 1978 and performed with many other choreographers. In 1983 she formed the Wendy Perron Dance Company, which performed in New York, nationally and in Europe, until 1997. From 1991 to 1994 she was associate director of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. She often interviews dance artists publicly and occasionally serves as commentator for NPR Radio. She serves on various committees and on panels for the National Endowment for the Arts and American College Dance Festival Association. She is currently artistic advisor for the Fall for Dance festival in NYC., has written articles for The New York Times, the Village Voice, Ballet Review, Dance Research Journal and Dance Magazine.

Valerio Cesio has been artistic director and choreographer for the companies Tempo Ballet de Buenos Aires, Compañía de Danza del Estado de Río Grande do Sul, Terra Compañía de Danza de Porto Alegre and Geraes Compañía de Danza de Belo Horizonte de Brasil. Since 1984 he has been choreographer and artistic director of Núcleo Danςa de Porto Alegre, which performs productions in Brazil and Argentina and tours Europe with performances in Paris, London, Cassis, Rome and Madrid. Since 1992, he has been intensely active as a critic, curator and consultant for events and institutions en Latin America and Europe. He has created more than one hundred original works and as an expert in dance, he teaches courses and conferences, consults for events, participates in panels of judges and writes critical dance reviews for various specialized publications in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, USA, Spain, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. 2006 Seminar Participant.

Rosito di Carmine began his professional career in Porto Alegro as first dancer of the Companhia de Dança do RGS (1981) and of Terra – Companhía de Dança (1981 – 1984), performing in Germany, Brazil and Italy. He has been guest first dancer of the London Latin Ballet (England), of the Ballet del Mercosur (Argentina), of Paralelo 32 (Mexico), as well as many international events such as Salon de la Danse of Paris, the Rassegna de Danza Moderna e Nuove tendenze in Rome, Dance in October Gallery in London, the Festivales del Mercosur, de Joinville, Campina Grande, Belém, Manaus, Porto Alegre, the Festival Iberoamericano de la Danza in Argentina, the 73rd. Birthday Celebration of Satia Sai Baba in India and the Encuentro Binacional de Danza en México. Since 1990, he has participated as a judge in international contests throughout Latin America and Europe. He has published dance articles in Argentina, Brazil, the United States and Uruguay. He also directs international dance video presentations.
